Slide show for Christmas '06
Finally asleep!! Visions of sugar plums ....
Acacia took a tumble and hurt her ankle Christmas night so everyone but Nono spent over 3 hours at the immediate care clinic to get Acacia checked out. She got her ankle x-rayed but there was no one available to read it. They splinted her ankle and told us to call back in a couple days for the results. This puts a serious damper on our skating, skiing and water parking plans. Soooo - we went to see the movie Happy Feet and then to our Christmas Train Show. Below are some photos and you can also click the link to see all photos. Oh - we called back today and her ankle is just sprained. But, it is still swollen so we are not sure what we will be doing tomorrow.... :(
Christmas Train Show '06

Lucky for us, Acacia's friend Rachel invited us all to join them at the museum for an exhibit on the History of Toys. It was pretty entertaining walking back in time to be reminded of the games and toys we all played with and how many are still around ... only better. The kids enjoyed this but I think the adults got more out of it. Acacia's ankle finally started to show signs of heeling, so what better way to celebrate then to spend the day at a water park?? Countless hours were spent climbing, sliding, playing and just relaxing in the hot tubs. Dad (my Dad) even went on the "big" rides with me after doing the smaller ones with the kids!! A grand time was had by all. The next day was spent shopping with Emme and Nono while Randy and I spent probably the first hours ever since our kids were born alone in our house. I cleaned, while Randy napped. What is wrong with us??? For New Years Eve we all went to the Monona Terrace here in Madison. They have great blow up jumpers, climbers and slides for the kids and even mini golf. We watched the Fabulous Rick Wilcox Magic Show staring, non other then .... Randy Learish. Randy was locked into a contraption that seconds earlier chopped a carrot in half. He was to be beheaded but I guess the trick did not work? Or, perhaps it did work?? Acacia was NOT happy to have her Dad up there having his head cut off but Chris thought it was pretty darn neat and wanted to go up next so he could disappear. A great show!! On to the live music and dancing and then another hour on the blow up jumpers. At 2 minutes before midnight I was sitting right here working on this very post, when Randy called to say it's nearly midnight. So, off I ran to sit next to my husband and watch the ball drop ... well, a rerun of the ball drop. What ever happened to the dancing and partying until 2a?? Luckily, neither one of us really miss it!! Hope everyone had a great New Years and you are all looking forward to 2007.
More stuff we did after Christmas

If you look closely, you can see the carrot that was simultaneously chopped dropping in front of the basket just under Randy's head.
