The very last of Acacia's rec league soccer games was today. They had a tournement this week end here in Oregon and played some REALLY good teams! They won two, tied one and lost one. And the one they lost we got robbed on as we scored but the ref made a bad call. A lesson one has to learn if you are going to play sport!! Acacia played better with each of the 4 games but played pretty darn bad the first two. The first game was at 7:20a. I will not elaborate.
But, they ended up having a GREAT season. Now Acacia moves on with three of her Bullets teammates to play "real" soccer starting next month. It will be very differnt. I just hope she really likes it!!

Baby Shower '11
A co-worker of mine is expecting their first baby. She seems really excited but my friend seems a little green around the edges. They had decided to host their own baby shower for us co-workers when I stepped in to offer the patio. I think it worked out great! We also could not have asked for any better weather!
So, with the help of all our co-workers and Randy manning the grill we had an awesome co-ed cookout baby shower. I even played Baby Beluga and other kids music while they opened gifts and then let them take all the kid CD's we had! I was not the least bit saddened to be rid of any of them. I also found out that you can have Baby Beluga downloaded to your phone as a ring tone. I want to do this to my co-workers phone!
Mom - this is the guy who's taxes you did.

Parade '11
The kids were in another parade here in Oregon. They are lucky to be able to select which floats they want to be on given all the activities they do. Acacia stuck to the swimming one and Chris decided on Cub Scouts. The Cub Scouts gave out ice pops!!!
Chris' Unbirthday '11
I am not really sure why a slightly late b-day gift qualified for an un-birthday gift but it did. Emme and Nono sent Chris his own water color paint set, drawing pencils, paper and a how to draw things book. Chris is such an awesome kid and his genuine excitement came blasting through when he opened these gifts! He called Emme and Nono right away to thank them and then went right to the patio and got to work. He even shared with his big sister who normally does not share much of her stuff with him.
Chris is beside himself loving these gifts! He has indicated he would like to be an artist when he grows up! :)

Back Yard Flowers and Wild Life '11
Having witnessed the baby robins come to life and fly away I am still amazed at how much wild life we have in our back yard. The crows nest we could have done without, but we have ducks, geese, humming birds, morning doves, finch, sparrows, robins, red winged black birds, rabbits, muskrats, raccoons, chipmunks .... they just cruise right up onto the patio too. I only wish the ones that eat my garden would take a hike. Speaking of the garden, I really was not holding my breath for it to come back as well as it did after last years relocation of so many plants. I only lost one plant and I think it was one the guy gave me from the nursery and not one of my original ones. Even the rose bushes survived. Now, things are not blooming to their potential but I assume next year they will.
Father's Day '11
For Father's Day the kids decided to be comically creative by "editing" my Mother's Day card and turning it into a Father's Day card!! They actually worked pretty hard on the edits! What you can't really see here is that the flowers for Mother's Day are now golf clubs! Plus, they each wrote a little note and taped it on the card. It was a very nice day! :)
We took Randy to an awesome seafood place for brunch. The weather was great and we were even able to eat outside!
