Kid's Day at the Kohl '11

Every year the day care takes to the kids to Kids Day at the Kohl Center. And since it's right out the door from my office I go over and walk around with them. Pretty much the same deal from year to year ... Given the event is free it really is very nice!!

All the athletes were on hand to sign autographs and get their pictures taken.

make your own cup cakes!!

rowing machines!

when I left them, they were staying to watch the women's ice hockey game

Softball anyone?

we even found wrestlers!!

and hurdles!!  When was the last time you jumped a hurdle?  Well, I mean physically ...

We waited in line for 20+ minutes for these stupid balloon animals.  Chris wanted a doggy and got exactly that and was thrilled!

Acacia asked for a bunny .... her expression was the same we all had ... like .... really??  A bunny?  We do NOT see it!

Adult Costume Party '11

We survived another Nikolai Adult only costume party! Coming off my big win from last year we decided to play it down a little. Randy really wanted to be Mr. Palamalu so I was going to do the cheerleader. Not very original but doable. But, the only cheerleader outfits were Dallas Cowboy ones and there was NO WAY I was going as one of them!!! So, next best thing was the ref ... But .... what kind of shoes should I wear???

Doesn't everyone have a pair of these in their closet??

Troy was actually having a very good hair day!

Apparently the ref thing was very popular this year!

Oddly, Troy did not seem to mind the refs or any of the calls they made!

Yet ... another ref ....

This years winner!!!

Troy had to get a dance in with the winner ...

This year I only had to not include a few shots .... much more tame I thought.  No streaking at least ...  :)

2011 Fall Soccer for Acacia

Acacia tried out for and made a competitive soccer team this fall. The team finished first in the league with only one loss. They had at least 3-4 shut outs and scores of 12-1 were not uncommon. They did not perform well in the tournaments which was very disappointing given how well they do during regular league play. No one really knows what is up with that. They will play indoor soccer this winter and then back to the grass in the spring.

Let the costume parties begin!! '11

Acacia's first of several costume parties this year was just down the street. She was a cheerless cheerleader (goth like cheerleader with a bad attitude). The girls really had a great time!!

Chris' Cub Scout den on tour at the SERF and KC '11

This is Chris' second year with the cub scouts. He is now a Bear Cub, up from the wolf ... soon to be a Weeblow (not sure about the spelling of that) - but anyway ... They asked me if they could tour my building and then I set up a tour of the Kohl Center (where I used to work). They learned some interesting statistics about both facilities. Ask they how many times would John have to stand on his own head to reach from the bottom to the top of the deep end of our pool or why we change the direction on the indoor running track each day....
