Acacia's talent show '10

The kids school's talent show was this past Friday. Acacia and her friend Ani wrote their own skit, did the props and costumes and performed to a couple hundred fans! I video taped it with my camera ... The clips are below. The skit is Bob, Bob and Joe. Acacia and two of her friends created Bob, Bob and Joe and are constantly doing new skits. Unfortunately "Joe" does not attend the same school so Joe was "sick" for this episode.

Mother's Day '10

I made a special request this year ... no breakfast in bed! I got a peak at the menu Saturday and got a little scared! Pancakes, waffles, bacon, cereal, toast, tea, coffee, juice, side of gold fish .... Knowing that they would indeed make all of this and bring it upstairs I decided to ask in advance for tea. That's it. I got my wish and right on time! I was then bombarded with about 5 Victoria's Secrets bags each with their own intimate little something. One was a foot scrubber thingy (that you use to scrub your heals), one was some scented soap, one was a little travel kit of lotion, body wash and a body mist, one was a couple packs of gum, and one was some body bath scrubby things. My assumption was that I must be having some personal hygiene issues and this was their tactful was of letting me know. But they assured me that was not the case. So now I have very smooth heals, soft skin and minty fresh breath! The kids also made me some very cool flowers and Acacia made me a jewelry box.

Chris made this little pot and flowers. Can you see how each flower has a little symbol and when next to each other in the right order they say I love you!! Very sweet!










We went to church and then out to eat at the Melting Pot (3 hours). We had ying yang chocolate fondue at the end. All wonderful. Oh - and mom's got bottomless mimosas!! Mmmmmmmm

The Third Cool Hair Cut '10

Chris is really getting into these hair cuts! He goes on line now to look for things the guy can shave into his head. If you are a male under the age of 12 you might recognize this character. If not, it's something from Pokimon ....

May Swim Meet '10

Acacia is doing Spring Swim team and will attend 2 meets. This one was a two day meet. She swam in 5 events and is improving her times with every meet! Later this week she will be filmed under water - swimming, doing flip turns and dive entries. The coaches will review the tapes and show the swimmers what to improve on. I am curious to see the footage myself!

Easter '10

For some reason, there are a lot of questions about the true existence of Santa but no one questions the Easter Bunny. What is up with that? We did our traditional jelly bean trail with a gift at the end. Acacia cheated this year and went down to see the gifts before we got up. I think, even though she does not ask, that she has all these silly traditions all figured out. I am actually kind of looking forward to the time when we no longer have to trick them. The broccoli truck no longer exists. Once that one was discovered I figured we can come clean on all the other. I guess we do need to hold onto the tooth fairy though. Chris has still only lost 2 teeth!

Acacia got ZHU ZHU pets (we did not even know what they were). Chris got new walkie talkies. One of the two disapeared in the first week. After a play date. :(

Swim Banquet '10

The 2009-2010 swim season came to an end with their annual banquet this past Sunday. All the new swimmers got a plaque. Then each swimmer received a plate to stick on the plaque with the year that they just completed. Acacia was not impressed with this "stupid board" and a good time was NOT had by all at this event. But, she will be back for more swimming staring with the spring season in just a few weeks.

Karate Belt Graduation Cerimony '10

We now officially have two karate "men" in our home. Acacia started a few months ago and Chris has been going strong for 6 months now. Acacia went from white to gold belt and Chris went from white with gold stripe to half white half gold. Chris is a little mifted that he did not get to gold yet and Acacia got there before he did when he's been doing it longer. Here are a bunch of photos and then a ton of little movie clips. I used to use a free software on line that allowed me to easily edit my video clips and blend them all into one (rather then 13 short ones), but that free service is now gone. If anyone knows of an application that will allow me to easily edit and combine short little movie clips into one long one please let me know!! The movie clips are anywhere from 5 seconds to 20 seconds long.
