This is Chris' second year with the cub scouts. He is now a Bear Cub, up from the wolf ... soon to be a Weeblow (not sure about the spelling of that) - but anyway ... They asked me if they could tour my building and then I set up a tour of the Kohl Center (where I used to work). They learned some interesting statistics about both facilities. Ask they how many times would John have to stand on his own head to reach from the bottom to the top of the deep end of our pool or why we change the direction on the indoor running track each day....

Family Fun Day at Curtis Stables '11
We are lucky to continue to be invited back to Sharon's stables every year for family fun day! Acacia gets to be reunite with Danielle and this year there was all kinds of extra entertainment. Puppet show, live music, yard games, TONS of food, riding and of course bare back basket ball!!
We invited some friends this year and Chris and Randy stayed home. We were not sure if the friend would be allowed to ride since she never took lessons there but we got lucky!!

Pumpking Patch '11
Sadly, we were only able to make it to one pumpkin patch this year. Soccer for both kids and Steelers football put a damper on the pumpkin patches. But, we still made it to probably one of the best ones around!! The kids each brought a friend and we all had a great time!

Oregon Spirit Day '11
I love this about living in Oregon! We are totally part of a community! Homecoming around here is for everyone!! And all the kids totally get into it!! They are encouraged to wear the school colors and be crazy on spirit day! When the kids bus came down the street to pick them up all the kids on it where handing out the windows and banging on the walls of bus!! Chanting and screaming!! Each school got to walk to Main Street for the parade as well!

Co-worker's wedding '11
A co-worker of mine got married in September and man did they luck out with the weather! September in Madison can be anything from sunny and 80 to cold and rainy. It was really beautiful. And given it was all outside this was particularly important. It was really nice to see her relaxed and letting loose! It was also nice to see my co-workers relaxed and in a social setting. Seeing the other side of people is always interesting!! ;)
Fowl in the back yard '11
It's that time of year again. As it starts to cool off we see a LOT of fowl getting ready to head south. Chris tried to get them to move on a little faster but they could have cared less!! Click play on the little video below.
