Adult Costume Party '12

Our annual "adult" costume party was this week end.  It was more affordable this year since it was after Halloween.  I was able to get my costume 50% off!  Score!  Below are some shots I am able to share.  The rest remain in the vault!

One good thing about my costume this year was that it was plastic  This meant it did not breath, even a little.  I think I lost 5 pounds as sweat was just dripping down my back the entire night!  That should have won the gross award anyway!

This year we were a classic couple.  Doctor and  Goth Nurse.  I tried to do  the goth make up but I can barely do normal person make up.

There were a lot of great costumes this year.

Some took a little more explaining than others ...

But once you got the couples together, it all made perfect sense!

This years winner, scary and sexy.  I'll let you figure out who  was sexiest!

There was just no comparing us ...

Trick or Treat '12

Trick or Treat 2012.  Chris FINALLY decided to go as something other than a Power Ranger, Warrior, Ninja type costume and go for the real meaning of Halloween!!  Nothing like a good ole fashion Zombie ringing your doorbell!!

Chris went trick or treating with his good friend Joel again this year.  I am not sure what Joel is supposed to be but we do know he is red.
Acacia went with her BEST friend EVER as twins!  This is Acacia's dance costume from last year and as luck would have it, Carson purchased the exact same costume at a garage sale.  Total coincidence.  Half way through the night, they decided they were Michael Jackson twins.

Oh, and Carson has a broken something so she had a cast on her hand.  Nice sympathy touch I thought!!

The kids have more candy than I can begin to explain and it's all out on the counter, just tempting the crap out of me.  But, I have managed to be pretty good about it all.

Until next year!  Happy Halloween!

Pumpkin Patch '12

Our first pumpkin patch of the season!  Could prove to be our only one given how packed our weekends are.  And we did everything!  We were here for over 6 hours!!

This is in the parking lot.  We did not even make it into the activities before the wrestling began.  Yes, there are three people in these photos!

First stop, corn pit.  Like a sandbox with corn instead of sand.  I am still finding kernels in the wash ...

Moving on to the duck races ....

And then the crazy large pumpkin ball that the kids thought they could toss and kick over the hay bales ... but nearly dislocated their knees when they tired or got crushed when it would bounce back at them.

What is a pumpkin patch without a moon jumper??

They each got a few turns trying to fire ears of corn out of this air compressor canon thing, but unless you get the farm hand to really shove the ear of corn really far down in there it is a dud shot.  Once we figured this out they were launching those things 50-80 feet!!

Moving on to the corn mazes.  We did three!

As you can see here, the boys would toss ears of corn in the air ... creating the "signal" ... how we were to find them.

Periodically, we would run across a numbered post.  We would ask the question associated  with  the numbered post and if we answered correctly it would tell us what direction to go it.  With these four, how could you go wrong??

Playing with the kittens ....

Time for school ....

Maybe we should buy something here...

Can you believe they have this exact same lantern at Burlington for half the price??

On to the pig races ....

Chris won!

Now, they decided to launch the pumpkin canon!!  When it worked .... this thing was wicked!!

As I am entering all this stuff to the blog I realize that there is no real proof that we were actually at a pumpkin patch.  For whatever reason we have no pictures of the hay ride to the pumpkin patch, the selecting of the pumpkins or of the prize 48 pound white pumpkin we came home with.  But, we were there!!  I have the dent in my wallet to prove it!!
